Boarding is available for our current daycare clients only.
Reservations can be made after completing the evaluation interview and 5 full daycare visits.
Even after this requirement is met, dogs must attend at least 4 full daycare days within 45 days before the boarding start date to stay familiar and comfortable with our environment and staff.
Planning a family vacation or going on a business trip? Aloha Dog will take care of your pup while you’re away. Our experienced and trustworthy boarding staff will take your dog home nightly after a long day of playing in our daycare.

Home Boarding policy
- No exceptions can be made to this policy.
- Male dogs over 7 months of age must be NEUTERED. We do not accept female dogs in heat.
- Current, active vaccinations are required. DHLPP (D=Distemper, H=Infectious Canine Hepatitis, L=Leptospirosis, P=Parainfluenza, P=Parvovirus) or equivalent. Bordatella (kennel cough) is required within 12 months of visit. It is the owner’s responsibility to update your dog’s vaccination record. Please be sure to renew shot records before they expire.
- Monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention is required.
- First time boarding requirements:
- Evaluation must be completed at least 30 days in advance of boarding.
- A minimum 5 full days of daycare or 10 half days must be completed BEFORE a boarding reservation can be made.
- Dog(s) must attend daycare a minimum of 4 full days or 8 half days within 30 days of boarding start date.
- Client must have an active daycare ticket or purchase a ticket at the time of making a reservation.
- Subsequent boarding requirements:

- Dog(s) must attend daycare a minimum of 4 full days or 8 half days within 45 days of boarding start date.
- Boarding rates are based on a 24 hour period. We will charge for every hour past the initial drop-off time until the cost reaches the 24 hour charge.
- There will be an additional charge of $5 per administration for any medications, ointments, etc. that your dog may need during boarding.
- Owner must provide dog’s regular meals. There is a $10 charge per day if your dog’s food runs out.
- Payment must be made at least one week prior to boarding start date. Holiday season one month prior to boarding start date. Please confirm your travel plans before making your boarding reservation.
- No refunds will be given for early pick-up.
- A basic or full grooming is required on the first day of boarding and a shampoo every 10 days of boarding. If you would like a full or basic grooming on the day of check out, please let us know. Grooming fee is in addition to boarding fee.
- Please notify us 24 hours in advance if there are any changes to boarding reservation dates or times.
- Any health issues your dog develops (including bite wounds) will be treated by the first available Veterinarian. If, for any reason your dog needs veterinary care during boarding, we charge a $30 transportation fee within the Kaka’ako district and $100 for areas outside of Kaka’ako.
- Our boarding capacity is limited, and especially during summer and the holiday season we are frequently at 90 - 100% occupancy. When we are at capacity, the lack of space may force us to turn away some clients for boarding. When clients cancel reservations or change reservations without an appropriate amount of notice (a minimum of 72 hours), it is frequently too late for us to fill the boarding space that we reserved for them because the clients that we turned away have already made other arrangements. Due to the loss of revenue because of untimely cancellations and schedule changes we have implemented the following boarding policies.
- At the time a boarding reservation is made, a $100 non-refundable deposit must be paid. This deposit will be applied to the cost of boarding. If the reservation is cancelled, this amount will not be returned.
- Each time a boarding reservation is changed (dates changed) a $10 handling fee will be charged.
- Less than 72 hours notice of cancellation, will be charged 100% of the entire reservation.
- We have the right to refuse boarding for any dog(s) depending on the situation.
- Monday through Friday Check in is available from shop opening until 2 PM. Check out is available from 2 hours after shop opening until closing. If the shop is open on Saturday, pickup is available from 1 hour after shop opening until closing. If the shop is closed on Saturday, Sunday, or holidays, pickup can be arranged for 9 AM ($20 fee) or 4:30 PM ($60 fee), but cannot be guaranteed.
